06.06.2006Galasport Team performs well at World Cups!
With the world cups are behind us, we have a first hand view of how our team has been performing at these races. Robin Bell of Australia uses the C1 Loco and with touches he finished in 2nd place in Athens with the fastest running time in his category. His closest competitors were from the men’s kayak class. Alexander Grim of Germany, is using the Shorty 362 XL and showed fine form finishing 3rd in Athens and 5th in Augsburg. He missed the silver medal in Augsburg due to a touch. Scott Parsons of USA is paddling the Shorty 362, but missed a chance at the silver medal because of a touch in one upstream gate. At the end he finished in 4th. Dejan Kralj of Slovenia, using the Alive finished 7th in Augsburg. To have three kayaks in top 7 of the men’s K1 category where times are the closest is incredible. It is looking like the boats are working well.
Volf/Stepanek of the Czech Republic are paddling the Pro Facto, are back this season after being sidelined with a broken arm. Augsburg was there first international race where they felt to be in good physical shape. They had the fastest time, but with one touch they finished 2nd
At the world cup in Seu D’urgell, Spain, again team Galasport performed well. Alexander Grimm of Germany capped another medal to add to his collection with a silver, while Dejan Krajl of Slovenia finished up his world cup season with a bronze medal. Both will be at the world championships in Prague this summer and you can be sure they will be in top form. Christos Tsakmakis of Greece was 4th and Jon Erguin of Spain was 7th in the Mens C1 category. Both are paddling the Ninja this season. In Mens C2 Quemerais/Le Pennec of France were 4th.
