Seo 2013: World Cup #3
The first three slalom World cups are over. The third one took place on the traditional Olympic course in La Seu d'Urgell. Nice and warm weather was an appreciated change in comparison with Augsburg's weather for most of the athletes.
Sideris Tasiadis (European champion from 2012 and silver Olympic medalist in C1 men category) finished third as in Augsburg last weekend and he is a current leader of World Cup standing in C1 men category. Second place in overall ranking belongs to the Czech athlete Stanislav Jezek who finished eleventh in Seo (0,1s behind the top 10) and wasn't allowed to compete in the final race this time.
Vavrinec Hradilek had a great race in Seo. He has won by almost 2 seconds in spite of the fact that his start in this race was pretty uncertain. Vavra had a painful backache after the World Cup in Augsburg, the same that troubled him during the spring preparation. He has finished second in the qualification and there was noone faster in saturday's final race. Second place in K1 men category belongs to Australian paddler Lucien Delfour (paddling the Echo of the Toro) who is currently on the fourth place in overall ranking just behind the German trio - Doerfler, Schubert, Aigner.
Jessica Fox (silver Olympic medalist in K1 women category) seems to be pretty sovereign in C1 women category this year. Second place in Cardiff, gold medal in Augsburg and Seo sent her to the C1 women leader position in overall ranking. Two Galasport competitors (Caroline Loir and Katerina Hoskova) have finished on the second and third place in Seo. The same positions belong to them in World Cup standing.
