Emilie Fer, queen of K1 women category
The second final day in Prague was perfect again. Many spectators have come again to support paddlers so the organizers could be proud of the World Championships they have prepared this year. Thomas Schmidt (Olympic winner ok K1 men category from Sydney 2000) has set up a very difficult course that consisted of 25 gates. Paddlers didn't complain about it but it was sure many of them have struggled with it. Many C1 girls had troubles to make the run clean and nice on saturday. So the K1 women and C2 have had today. This fact leads us to the question if it wouldn't be better to have easier course for C2, K1W and C1W category? But this is not up to us to make the decision.
Emilie Fer, new World champion in K1 women category
Anyway we are really happy to announce that Emilie Fer has become a World champion today. She didn't take part in many World cups this year but she won two of three. This fact made her one of the medal aspirant in today's race. And it did really happen. Great end of the season today for this french paddler. Congratulation!
